Do This To Become Valuable & Sought After

But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ...2 Peter 3:18

Sometimes it could be our unbelieving school mates or unsaved family members who had gone far ahead of us. Though we are committed to God we are not seeing any progress. While the bible says that the gift of a person would make room for them, it appears ours is not. Often the answer may not be far-fetched. 

The bible says study to show yourself approved. What does that mean? Build your capacity. In plain language, develop yourself. Even though our God is unlimited with unlimited resources, He is a shrewd investor. He doesn't invest where there is no return on His investment. He may not give you the opportunity to be positioned before great people if you have not developed the ability that He has given you. He will not give you a big opportunity of a lifetime if you do not have the capacity to handle it. While you may find favor with God, you may not find it with men, because men look at the outside.

Jesus proved that we need to have favor with both God and men and to increase in this favor in Luke 2:52. Jesus also developed His capacity as a man. He was found in the temple even at the young age of 12. 

So, if you want your gift to make room for you, if you want to become valuable and be promoted, take relevant training, attend seminars, listen to podcasts, read books and do whatever is possible to develop your capacity. Learn, relearn, reskill. Men need to see you approved.
