Don't Let Him Get Away With It

Don't Let Him Get Away With It

Scripture

When Jesus saw her weeping and saw the other people wailing with her, a deep anger welled up within him, and he was deeply troubled. Jesus was still angry as he arrived at the tomb, a cave with a stone rolled across its entrance. John 11:33‭, ‬38 NLT.

Application

Some people believe that we should never get angry. We should always be easy going. Don't rock the boat. Just go with the flow. I must first confess that naturally I am an easy going person. I try to avoid conflict as much as possible. At some point I have mistaken Christlikeness as allowing one to be constantly cheated without objecting assertively.

However, as I begin to learn and dig deep into God's Word, I discovered that this was not scriptural. While we are to be gentle as doves, we are not to keep silent in the face of injustice or when evil is at work. We are to resist it. In fact, we are called to wage warfare against spiritual wickedness and the manifestations of evil. Whatever we tolerate God would not change.

This was the case in the scripture for today. Jesus was angry at the work of Satan. Satan struck His friend Lazarus with sickness and killed him. Jesus wasn't going to tolerate this. He got angry. He felt the pain of His friends Mary and Martha at the loss of their brother. He then proceeded to raise him from the dead.

Wherever you see Satan at work tormenting lives, either yours or loved one's, don't tolerate it. Get angry. Don't tolerate it. Take your stand and fix it in the name of Jesus.

Prayer Points

  1. Thank You Father for this word.
  2. Lord help me to take my stand against evil in Jesus name.
