Scripture
14 For there were about 5,000 men there. Jesus replied, “Tell them to sit down in groups of about fifty each.” 15 So the people all sat down. 16 Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. 17 They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers! Luke 9:14-17.
Application
Have you ever been in a situation where you are in a bind? I mean a situation where you don't have enough to meet the obligations? Let me show you how you can adequately solve that problem.
First, as I wrote in my I wrote a book called 42 Financial Independence Laws for Christians: What Jesus Taught Me On Becoming Rich During COVID-19 & Beyond, one of the things that the Lord taught me was that there is nothing that is small. The problem is that you don't know how to leverage it and what to invest in. You are putting it in the wrong hands.
Let me prove this to you. This was one of the examples that I gave in my book. In the past few years, have you had $100 pass through your hand? Yes? I'm sure you never thought it could be enough to do anything right? Do you know if you had invested the same $100 in 2004 in Facebook in 2021 it would be worth over $3 Million? Yes. So, why hasn't the $100 in your hand appreciated that much? You didn't put it in the right hands.
In our scripture readings for today, the background was that Jesus had been teaching a crowd of possibly 15,000 + people if you factor in women and children. They were in a desert place with no food at all. Eventually, they found a boy's lunch of five loaves and two fish. Jesus' disciples never believed it was enough, but they nonetheless put them in His hands. Jesus took the loaves and fish and gave thanks. The result was that everyone was fed and they had twelve full baskets left over.
How can you leverage the little that you have? First, give thanks to God for providing it. Don't complain. Always give thanks. Then put it in God's hands. Ask God to bless it.
How could you put it in God’s hands? It is possible that someone may come by you who has an urgent need that some of your $100 could meet. Search your heart and release it to meet the need as much as you can. You could even be tested to give it in your church. Do it. Remember, as long as it remains in your hand, it is limited. Only God can multiply it.
Finally, in order to experience miraculous experiences written in the bible, you need to start believing the bible. The truth is that, whatever area of the bible you don't believe, you will probably rob yourself of experiencing it in your contemporary life. Whatever you don't acknowledge you may never experience. This has practically helped me. So, go ahead and break your limitations.
Prayer Points
- Father, thank you for opening my eyes to this truth.
- Father, help me to always give thanks no matter how much I have. Also, show me where to put my little.
