The Disadvantage of Sight

The Disadvantage of Sight

Scriptures
"For we live by believing and not by seeing." 2 Cor 5:7

Application

Seeing Isn't Believing

This scripture tells us that we live by believing and not by seeing. Meanwhile, everywhere it is said that seeing is believing. Thankfully, this has been proven to be a great lie. If we wait to see before we believe it is too late. In fact, God has called us to a live life of believing before seeing.

There are so many disadvantages that could come with seeing. This is not limited only to seeing with the physical eyes but also with the spiritual. Naturally, whatever we see in the spiritual realm has a lot of impact on us. We do believe them quickly. For example, whatever we see in dreams and visions do have great effects on us. They could encourage us to go ahead.

Negative Sight

Also, negative things seen in the spiritual realm could sabotage what God has for us. It is possible that you have been seeing some things that are opposite of what God has promised you. It could be in your dreams or with your physical eyes. You might have prayed, and still continue to try and pray them away but they keep reoccurring. This is where you take a stand. Don't be influenced by negative visions, dreams, prophecies, events and happenings that you see with your physical or spiritual eyes.

Walk By Faith

Walking with God by faith means sometimes you have to ignore what you see both physically and spiritually. Instead, you hold on to what He has already told you, and let God do the seeing and you do the believing. Since Satan has access to both physical and spiritual realms, he would not only trigger what you see physically to discourage you, he could also use what you see in the spirit realm to slow you down.. Accordingly, you need to walk by faith and not by sight whether physically or spiritually.

 Prayer Points

  1. Thank you Lord for reminding me of this fact.
  2. Father help me to walk only by faith in you and not in what I see whether physical or spiritual in Jesus name.
