When Your Checking Account Is Empty (Faith)

When Your Checking Account Is Empty (Faith)

Scriptures

He struck the water with Elijah’s cloak and cried out, “Where is the LORD, the God of Elijah?” Then the river divided, and Elisha went across. 2 Kings 2:14.

Application

Do you have a “go to faith”? I’m sure in your life when things get really rough, you have something that you resort to when all else fails. For example, let’s say you have an urgent need for some money and you have tapped into all you have in your checking account. Now, you have some money in your long term savings that you never use for everyday expenses. You can tap into that funds. Do you have that kind of “go to faith”?

In some areas of my life, I have developed myself, to the glory of God where I know that God would answer a specific prayer while praying. It never fails. The surge of faith that comes at that time is different. I know it. It is difficult to describe. I just know even while praying that that prayer would be answered. It is bankable and guaranteed.

How do you get there? You totally eradicate fear in that area of your life. You see, when you have been stretched successfully beyond your comfort zone several times and you hold on in faith, abandoning yourself totally to the hand of God to do as He pleases, fear loses its grip on you. You no longer cower into playing it safe. You begin to trust God absolutely in that area of your life.

Faith that produces real, genuine and bankable results would not be based on feeling or your strength. It comes from experiential knowledge (knowledge put into action) of being in a hard place and seeing God come through.

So, when you are all out of “faith in your checking account, the faith for everyday experiences, tap into the faith in the reserves.” It would always produce results. That is your “go to faith.”

Prayer Points

  1. Lord thank you for this truth.

  2. Lord, let my faith produce results for me each time.
