Why We Miss God

Why We Miss God

Scripture
You will see neither wind nor rain, says the Lord, but this valley will be filled with water. You will have plenty for yourselves and your cattle and other animals.  2 Kings 3:17 NLT

Application

In this verse, Elisha was giving Prophetic assurance to King Joram of Israel and King Jehoshaphat of Judah. He was telling them that they would have water which they desperately need.

Many times when we have problems, we expect God to do it in a certain way. Probably in the normal course of events as it's done. However, since God is not bound by anything, He sometimes bypasses the expectations and even promises solutions outside what we can fathom.

There have been several times in my life when this has been the case. Whenever God gives His word, no matter how odd, what we need to do is believe Him. He doesn't need our help to bring it to pass. He could bypass the normal course of events. This was the case in the above passage. They needed water but God told them that He would provide water but not through what would be expected. Water would just appear, and that was what happened.

Many times we miss God because we have limited Him to the regular order of nature forgetting that though He made the laws, He cannot be restrained by them. So, be flexible when asking for God’s help. He has it figured out before you asked.

Prayer Points

  1. Thank you Lord for this word.
  2. Father, help me to believe and trust Your Word regardless of the circumstances in Jesus name.
